A storm system is projected to bring rain to the region starting late tonight and continuing through Sunday night. Initial conditions will be fair and dry, thanks to weak high pressure, but the arrival of the storm will change that.

Rainfall is expected to vary, with predictions of around a quarter inch near the Thousand Islands and over an inch in the western Southern Tier.

Tonight, a strengthening low pressure system will pass just to the south, leading to a shift in weather. While today features sunny skies that are ideal for enjoying fall foliage, Sunday will likely be better suited for indoor activities due to the rain. Following this rainy day, the area can expect cool and showery conditions from Monday through Wednesday.
