Tropical Storm Helene Approaches Southeast U.S. Today
Staff Report / FLXlocal.org
Tropical Storm Helene is expected to impact parts of the Southeast U.S. today. In western and north central New York, dry weather is anticipated for the day, although clouds will begin to increase, particularly in western New York. Light showers are forecast to begin in western New York tonight.
High temperatures across the region will reach between 70 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Low temperatures will be around 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit in western New York, and 50 to 55 degrees Fahrenheit in north central New York.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo, New York, reports that high pressure in the Great Lakes region will maintain dry conditions throughout the day. However, as the remnants of Tropical Storm Helene move in from the south, there is a chance for rain showers tonight and into the weekend, primarily south of Interstate 90.
