The Fall Equinox in 2024 will occur on Sunday, September 22, at 8:43 AM Eastern Time. This marks the official start of fall. Following the equinox, the length of daylight will begin to decrease daily, continuing until the Winter Solstice on December 21. As the season progresses, the sun's angle will lower, leading to reduced daytime heating and eventually resulting in colder weather.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, NY, fall has officially arrived as of September 22, 2024.
