Major Snowstorm Forecasted This Weekend: 2 Feet Possible

A significant lake effect snow event is forecasted from 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Monday. According to the National Weather Service Buffalo, NY, there is high confidence that areas marked in red will receive heavy snowfall, with predictions suggesting over 2 feet possible. In contrast, areas indicated in blue are expected to receive much less snow, with less than 4 inches likely.

There is a noted area of uncertainty near the Buffalo metro area, represented by a yellow circle, especially for Saturday and Sunday. The weather warnings are in effect from Friday to Monday for the regions with the highest confidence. Due to the length of this weather event, there remains some uncertainty regarding the exact snowfall totals across the affected areas.
