The National Weather Service in Buffalo, NY has issued a morning forecast update for November 21, 2024. Showers are currently present across the Niagara Frontier and rain is extending east of Lake Ontario. This afternoon, coverage is expected to expand and may mix with wet snow in higher elevations.

By this evening and into tonight, widespread rain will occur in lower terrain areas, transitioning to heavy wet snow on the hilltops.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, and Wyoming counties starting at 6 PM this evening and lasting until noon on Friday.

Forecast snowfall amounts valid from 6 PM tonight through 12 PM Friday indicate that wet snow is expected in the hilltops of the Southern Tier and Wyoming County. Snow accumulation will depend significantly on elevation, with a notable decrease below 1500 feet where mainly rain is predicted.
