Staff Report / FLXlocal.org
The latest report from the U.S. Drought Monitor indicates that much of western and northcentral New York is experiencing D0 (Abnormally Dry) conditions due to a continued lack of rainfall this fall. As of the latest data, the percentage of areas affected by different drought conditions in New York is as follows: 75.75% of the area is classified as D0 (Abnormally Dry), 22.05% as D1 (Moderate Drought), and 2.20% has no drought status. This represents a slight change from the previous week, where 79.74% of the area was D0 and only 21.66% was D1.
