**Buffalo Police Arrest Suspect in Tonawanda Street Shooting**

**Buffalo, NY – November 7, 2024** – The Buffalo Police Department announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with a shooting that occurred on Tonawanda Street on the night of November 4, 2024.

Officers from the D District received a shooting call at approximately 10:30 p.m. on the 800 block of Tonawanda Street. Upon arrival, they found a 19-year-old male from North Tonawanda suffering from gunshot wounds to his leg. The victim was transported by AMR to ECMC for treatment of a life-threatening injury and is currently in stable condition.

Following the incident, detectives from the Gun Violence Unit launched an investigation and were able to identify a suspect. On Tuesday, November 5, officers apprehended Hector Martinez, a 37-year-old resident of Buffalo, on the 200 block of Thompson Street without incident. Authorities recovered a Ruger Security 9 pistol during the arrest.

Hector Martinez has been charged with multiple offenses, including Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, and Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree.

The investigation is ongoing.
