Supporting West Ada's Alternative Education Programs

Staff Report / MeridianLocal.org

The West Ada School District in Meridian, Idaho is focusing on its alternative education programs to better support students who may face various challenges. In a podcast episode featuring Kristen Haener, Administrator of Alternative Education, and Mike Hanneman, Principal of the Rebound School of Opportunity and Virtual School House, they discussed how the academies work to meet students where they are and provide them with opportunities for success.

Students may attend these alternative high schools for a variety of reasons, including the need to repeat a grade, attendance problems, or other risk factors that affect their education. The discussion aims to shed light on how these programs can support students in unique ways.

For more information, individuals can reach out to Kristen Haener at Haener.Kristen@WestAda.org. The Rebound School of Opportunity recently held its 2023 graduation, and videos about the event and staff recognition awards are available on YouTube. Additionally, West Ada's podcast can be explored for past episodes.
