Buffalo Sees 11th Consecutive Day Over 80°F

Staff Report / FLXlocal.org

Buffalo has recorded its 11th consecutive day of temperatures at or above 80 degrees Fahrenheit, marking the third longest stretch of such days in September. The longest streak of 80-degree days for any month in Buffalo is 32 days.

In Rochester, the record for 80-degree days in September is 10, a mark that was set in 1884. This year, Rochester reached only 78 degrees on September 18, which interrupted a potential streak. Had that day reached 80 degrees, Rochester would have also marked 11 days in a row at 80 degrees or higher.

Rochester holds a longer overall streak for any month with 35 days of temperatures at or above 80 degrees.
